Heater / Heat Pump Preventive Plumbing/Service

Whenever you run water, and corrosive chemicals through tiny tubes, even those made of titanium, you are going to get wear and tear on those parts. If you are ALWAYS running water, with chemicals, under pressure, through your heater or heat pump, you are putting unneeded wear and tear on your unit. If you aren't actually heating your pool or spa at that time, this is needless wear and tear. Kind of like leaving your car running 24 hours a day because you might want to use it over the weekends.

Since a good heater costs thousands of dollars, and a good heat pump can cost $6000 or more, being able to shut off the heater from all water flow, and drain it, when you aren't using it, is essential to a long life. Have a couple more high quality valves installed to completely bypass the Heater/Heat Pump, when you aren't use it. Sure, it might cost an extra $200 to save your $2500 heater, or your $6700 heat pump. But come on, if you are going to spend that kind of money, what's another 4-10% to make it last 2-3 times longer?

REMEMBER TO DRAIN IT AFTER BYPASSING IT TO GET THE WATER OUT.
